because the freezing temperature of water is zero degree celsius and boiling temperature is 100 degree Celsius

Water is a liquid at room temperature due to following reasons :
(i) Water has not fixed shape but fixed volume. It takes the shape of the container.
(ii) Water can flow easily hence it is not rigid but a fluid.
