in india, farmers r not properly educated. they use chemicals such as fertilisers and pesticides in large quantities. only a prescribed amount of chemicals should b used in the soil . when there is excess of chemicals in soil, they r absorbed by the roots of the soil these chemicals reach the water and pollute the water bodies. water contamination due to the same reason also occurs due to soil erosion. the wind or water carries away the topsoil and mixes it with water. thus, water gets polluted
