during an electrical fire caused by faulty wiring, the wires will be come exposed. if we use water to douse an electric fire, you're causing another short circuit, causing the current to spike back up. the increase in the current, means more energy which translates to a stronger fire.

because water may conduct electricity and anyone in contact with that water they may get an electrical shock.
