Answer:
Water can easily change its state. It is easily available on the planet in the form of its three states, solid, liquid and gas.
What is a water or hydrological cycle?
- Water cycle-The process of never-ending exchange in which the exchange of water takes place from the atmosphere to the ocean and then back to it, we call it the water cycle.
- This whole process is very simple which is divided into 6 parts.
a-Evaporation/Transpiration
b-Liquefaction
c-Precipitation
d-Infiltration
e- Runoff
f- Storage
- When water vapor in the atmosphere condenses to form clouds, this process is called condensation. When the air is cold enough, the water vapor condenses on the air particles to form clouds.
- When clouds form, the wind spreads the water vapor around the globe. Ultimately the clouds are unable to hold the humidity and they fall in the form of snow, rain, hail etc.
- The next three stages -evaporation, runoff and infiltration occur simultaneously. The process of infiltration occurs due to the seepage of rain into the land. If there is a rapid rainfall, it causes runoff on the ground by the process of infiltration. The runoff occurs at the water level and flows into canals, rivers and goes into large water bodies such as lakes or seas.
- Infiltrated ground water also flows in the same way as it recharges rivers and flows into larger bodies of water. The conversion of water into vapors by the heat of the sun is called evaporation. Sunlight heats the water of seas and lakes and converts them into gas. Hot air rises up into the atmosphere and becomes vapor by the process of condensation. The water cycle goes on continuously and keeps the sources clean.
