Water flows into a large tank with flat
bottom at the rate of 10-4 m3/s. Water is
also leaking out of a hole of area 1 cm2 at
its bottom. If the height of the water in the
tank remains steady, then this height (in

The height in cm is h = 5 cm

Explanation:

When water inflow rate = water outflow rate

Then the height of the water will become steady.

[ √ 2gh ] x 1 x 10^-4 =  10^-4

20 h = 1

h = 1/ 20

h = 0.05 m

h = 5 cm

Thus the height in cm is h = 5 cm
