Answer:

40 hours.

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume of water to be filled = length × breadth × height

We have..

  • length = 150 m
  • breadth = 100 m
  • height = 7 m

Substitute the known values in above formula

=> 150 × 100 × 7

=> 105000 m³

Area of pipe = length × breadth

We have ..

  • length = 5 dm
  • breadth = 3.5 dm

To convert dm into m .. divide with 10.

So,

  • length = 0.5 m
  • breadth = 0.35 m

Substitute the known values in above formula

=> 0.5 × 0.35

=> 0.175 m²

Amount of water flow in 15 km/hr. = 0.175 m²

Amount of water flow in 1 hour = 15 km/hr. = 15000 m/hr.

=> 0.175 × 15000

=> 2625 m²

We have to find time taken to fill the tank which is 7 m deep.

So,

Time taken = Volume of water to be filled/Amount of water that flow in 1 hour.

=> 105000/2625

=> 40 hrs.

Given :-

For Water

Length (l) = 150 m

Breadth (b) = 100 m

Height (h) = 7 m

For Pipe

Length (l) = 5 dm = 0.5

breadth (b) = 3.5 = 0.35

To Find :-

To Find the time at which the water level will be 7 m.

Solution :-

Volume of Water (Rectangular) in shape = l × b × h

= 150 × 100 × 7 m

= 105000 m³

Now, Area of pipe = l × b

= 0.5 × 0.35

= 0.175 m²

Amount of water flowing in 1 hr = 15 km/hr

= 15000 m/hr

Amount of water flow in 1 hr = time taken in 1 hr × area of pipe

= 0.175 × 15000

= 2625 m²

Time taken by tank to reach the level of 7 m deep = 105000 /2625

= 40 hours.
