Given that: Rate of water flow = 3km/h= (3000/60) m/min =50 m/min

Depth (h) of river = 2 m

Width (b) of river = 45 m

Volume of water flowed in 1 min = Rate of water flow * depth of river * width of river = 50*2*45 = 4500 m3

Hence, in 1 minute, 4500 m3 water will fall in the sea.

Find the rate in of the flow:

1 hour = 3km

1 hour = 1 x 1000 = 3000 m

Find the area of the river opening into the sea:

Area = Length x Breadth

Area = 2 x 45 = 90 m²

Find the flow of the water into the sea:

1 hour = 3000 x 90 = 270,000 m³

1 min = 270,000 ÷ 60 = 4500 m³

Answer: The water is flowing into the sea at 4500m³ per min
