Water is a polar covalent molecule.

Explanation:

A water molecule contains hydrogen atoms (two) each containing one electron and one oxygen atom that contains eight electrons. The water molecule is formed through sharing of each single hydrogen atom with atoms of oxygen through covalent bond. The atoms get polarized with both hydrogen atoms taking as the positively charged particle and the oxygen atom heavy with electrons taking the negative charge.

As a result the molecule of water is called the polar covalent molecule.
