water flow rate  (cm3 / s ) = cross section area ( cm2 ) × speed of water flow ( cm/s )

                                          = ( π×3.5×3.5)×( 12 ) ≈ 462 cm3 /s

volume of water collected in 1 hour  = 462×3600/1000 ≈ 1662 litre
