The Net heat supplied to the boiler  is 1880kJ/kg

Given:

The temperature at the inlet of the boiler(T1) = 50°C, Saturation temperature (Tsat) = 100∘ C, Enthalpy of vaporization (hgf)= 2400 KJ/kg and Dryness Fraction = 0.7

To Find:

The net heat supplied in the boiler

Solution:

Enthalpy of saturated liquid (hf)

= Cp*dT

= 4 x (Tsat - T1)

= 4 x (100 - 50)

= 200 kJ/kg

The total enthalpy of liquid at the exit of the boiler( h)

= hf + xhfg

= 200 + 0.7* 2400

= 1880 KJ/Kg

The Net heat supplied to the boiler is 1880kJ/kg.
