Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

area of cross section * speed * time

pie r2*s*t=pie r2 h

700*1800=1600*h

h=12600/16

h=787.5 cm

h=7.87 m

Answer:

The height increase is 7.87 m.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Water is flowing at 7m/s through a circular pipe of internal diameter of 4cm into cylindrical tank, the radius of whose base is 40cm.

To find : The increase in water level in 30 minutes.

Solution :

We know,

Volume of cylindrical tank = Area of cross section × Speed of flowing water × time

Now,

Rate of flow =7m/s

For pipe - Radius r= 1cm or 0.01m

For tank - Radius R= 40cm or 0.4m

Time = 30min = 1800sec

Substituting the values in the formula we get,

\pi r^2 h=\pi R^2\times rate\times time

0.4^2 h=0.01^2\times 7\times 1800

0.16h=0.0001\times 7\times 1800

0.16h=1.26

h=\frac{1.26}{0.16}

h=7.875

Therefore, The height increase is 7.87 m.
