Water is flowing at the rate of 0.7 m/sec through a circular pipe whose internal diameter is 2 cm into 4 a cylindrical tank, the radius of whose base is 40 cm. Determine the increase in the level of water in half hour.

volume of water flow = speed × time × area of cross section

= 0.7 × 30 × 60 × π ×0.01 × 0.01

volume of tank = volume of water flow

π × 0.4 × 0.4 × h = 0.7 × 30 × 60 × π × 0.01 × 0.01

after solving this

h = o.7875 metre
