Convert all to metres:

5 km = 5000 m

14 cm = 0.14 m

7 cm = 0.07 m

Find the radius:

Radius = Diameter ÷ 2

Radius = 0.14 ÷ 2 = 0.07 m

Find the amount of water that flowed out in an hour:

Volume = πr²h

Volume = π (0.07)² (5000) = 77 m³ per hour

Find the amount of water needed in the tank:

Volume = Length x Breadth x Height

Volume = 50 x 44 x 0.07 = 154 m³

Find the number of hours needed:

Number of hours = 154 ÷ 77 = 2 hours

Answer: It takes 2 hours to fill up the tank to rise by 7 cm
