Water is kept in a vessel at a temperature of 30 degree Celcius. What would happen if a hot metal ball having a temperature of 70 degree Celcius is dropped in it. Mention the heat flow. ​

  • As the ball is at 70 degree celsius and the water is at 30 degree celsius, the heat flow will take place from the hot metal ball towards the water which is at low temperature.
  • Therefore, there will be a decrease in the temperature of the metal ball. Because of the law of energy conservation, the heat lost by metal ball will be similar to the heat acquired by water.
