Water is one of our most precious commodities and no life can survive without it. It has been predicted that water scarcity will become the subject of ‘Wars’ in the near future. Write any two ways in which water is getting polluted? Write any two measures to stop water pollution at your level?

Ignition of arms and weapons release large amount of mercury. When water contaminated with mercury is used by animals and beings it causes many disaesae .
IndustrI also waste discharged into water bodies contains a lot of toxic chemicals that make water unfit for living things

Ways by which water is getting polluted:-

• Chemical and Industrial waste is dumped into rivers and lakes by many industries which is harmful to human and aquatic animals.
• Farmer uses excess fertilizers in their field for the hope of good yield but it only leads to fertilizer runoff in river water which causes algal bloom and extension of underground fishes and plants.

Measures we can take to prevent water pollution are:-

• Minimise the use of pesticides fertilizers and herbicides and prevent their runoff.
• Primary disposal of any chemical or industrial waste before dumping it into any Ocean or rivers.
