  • In waterless conditions plants survive by preventing the loss of water transpiration and did not open their stomata.

  • Water is conserved in the different type of tissues so that the waterless condition can be prevented.

  • Physiological, anatomical and morphological changes are adapted to minimise the damage which is caused by dry conditions.

  • In case of animals the urine is concentrated so as to keep the water in the animal body.

  • The sweat glands closed and there is no water loss through sweat.
