Water logging is the condition where the soil gets saturated with water. The soils which gets water logged releases a poisonous green house gas called nitrous oxide.

There are many effects of water logging. Some are listed below -

1. It affects the growth of the plants as the level of oxygen gets decreased.

2. The soil loses the amount of nitrogen present in it.

3. It also reduces the ability to fix nitrogen by the legume plants.
