water on lotus leaf simply slides off or remains on its surface as tiny silvery balls.why?​

This is because of the surface of the lotus leaf, it is superhydrophobic

Explanation:

These have stomata on the upper surface as the lower surface is in contact with water. The upper surface have a waxy coating that allows the water drops to run off the leaves to prevent the leaves from sinking
