water. rain comes down, it comes in round shape. why.what is the reason.

While the water drops are spherical in nature because of surface tension, rain drops are neighter sperical nor 'teary shaped' as believed by many of us, and also shown in cartoons. In actual observation, it looks like the top half of the hambrger bun because of the compound interaction of the various phenomena such as cohesion, surface tension, air resistance and gravity.
