  • This increase in velocity results in the increase in kinetic energy.
  • Whereas, decreasing the temperature tends to cease the molecular motion. Thus, lowering the kinetic energy.
  • In the same way, when water solidifies into ice, the motion of water molecules gets restricted due to which its kinetic energy gets reduced.
