Water tank is cylindrical in shape. the diameter of its base on the inside is 28 m and its depth is 7 m. how many kilolitres of water can it hold?

The diameter of the base of a cylinder is 28 m

Its height is 7 m

To find,

The volume of water in kilolitres.

Solution,

The volume of a cylinder is given by the formula as follows :

V=\pi

 {r}^{2}h

r = radius of cylinder, r = 14 m

Putting all the values in the above formula, we get:

V=

 \frac{22}{7} \times  {14}^{2}  \times 7

V=

 {4312}^{3} Since,

1 m³ = 1000 L

or

1 m³ = 1 kL

So,

4312 m³ = 4312 kL

So, the cylinder can hold 4312 kL of water.
