Water absorbs heat. The molecules of water start moving with more kinetic energy. The temperature of the water increases. Water starts boiling at 100 degree C .After that additional heat energy is consumed in converting water into water vapour. High energy molecules leave the water surface and go into the atmosphere in the state of vapour !
