Given :  Watermelon made of  pulp and water  contains 90% water.

After being dried up  for some hours it  contains 40% water.  and present weight = 20 kg

To Find : original weight of Water melon

Solution:

Let say water  Melon weight   = 10W kg

Water Weight  =  (90/100)10W =  9W kg

Pulp Weight  =  10W  - 9W  =  W kg

it  contains 40% water. and present weight  is 20 kg

Weight of Water  = (40/100)20  = 8kg

Weight of pulp = 20  - 8  = 12 kg

Pulp Weight will remain same

=> W = 12

=> 10W  = 120   kg

original weight of water Melon = 120 kg
