Answer:

taxonomy is a branch of science which deals with the rules of grouping organisms and this definition was given by A.P. delandolle. it is derived from 2 Greek words that is taxa meaning group and nomy meaning norms or rules .

it involves four processes that are characterisation, identification, nomenclature and classification of organisms but it does not deals with evolutionary studies (also known as phylogeny) and that is what makes it different from the study of systematics.
