wave length of light in water&glass are 4000A degree & 2500A degree respectively. Find refractive index of glass with respect to water

Given -
Wavelength of light in water = 4000A°
wavelength of light in glass = 2500A°
To find - Refractive index of glass with respect to water
Solution -
 \mu =    \frac{ \lambda(1)}{ \lambda(2)}
then substituting the values we get
 \mu =  \frac{4000}{2500}
therefore Refractive index of glass is
 \mu(g) =  1.6
