Ways by which specialisation has helped in the economic development of Nigeria

Hey!
With help from the government, shun most things imported and focus on achieving sizeable indigenous ownership/representation across all sectors of the economy in the long run. Think Japan's move from Toyopet to Toyota Nigeria's Construction Industry Bill
It will be difficult, but it will pay off eventually.
Almost all consumer products in use here - from toothpicks to petrol - are imported. There's even a growing preference for 'Made Abroad' college graduates. Some qualified graduates are denied job opportunities simply because they do not have an oyibo accent!
We make a lot of noise about corrupt public officials being the cause of our declining economy but corruption is not unique to Nigeria. In fact, Transparency International ranked Nigeria 136 out of 176 countries on its 2014 Corruption Perception Index. What are the developed nations that are more corrupt than Nigeria doing right?
The same people/countries that deride the state of the economy profit from it and 'inadvertently' encourage dirty politicians and corrupt government officials to steal more so they can invest more outside the shores of our country.
