ways of conservation of resources in 100 - 150 words

I suppose there are different ways to parse this, but conservation of natural resources, to me st least, means to wisely use the earth’s resources in such a way that society thrives in the long term, as opposed to squandering resources for short term benefits.

So harvesting lumber from trees but utilizing more of the wood, rather than burning so much of the foliage makes sense. This involves things like using oriented strand board, fabricated from chips, in non visible applications, makes sense. Using solar panels to reduce my reliance on fossil fuels, makes sense to me because it lessens not only the obvious impacts of fossil fuels but also the ancillary damage caused by well drilling, fracking and the generating the energy used for n refining distillates.
