We agree that there are gases in air even though we can't see them. But we do not agree that there are ghosts(aatma). Why? Is everything related to scientific reason?

Human mind relies on proof and rational thinking.
Only those things whose existence is proved or it is believed that it can be proved are thought to exist.
Even if a person claims to have experienced the supernatural, he himself has been brought up in such a manner that he will think of answers to either prove or disprove himself.
Nobody can claim in the existence or non-existence of ghosts.
It's based on what we belief.
From scientific point of view, till the time there is no substantial proof, it'll continue to be a myth but someone who strongly believes that there are things that are beyond human mind's perception, a ghost may be a reality...
Hope this helps
