we all know that when we stand in front of a concave or convex mirror we dont really know where the principal axis is ,but while drawing a ray diagram why the object is placed above principal axis​

Answer:

If we keep the image less than the length of concave or convex mirror then no image will form.The image is bound to form in the length of it .Thus in order to get image we have to put above the principal axis or in the length of it.
