we always used to say that world largest desert is sahara.... but antartica is also a cold desert which is bigger than sahara then why should we alway say that sahara is worlds largest desert while antartica is 5.5 million mi. square and sahara is 3.5 million mi.square....
plz answer this.....

Here is your answer.....

If we are used to say or discuss about world largest desert . So ,we usually take the name of Sahara , but it's wrong because The sahara is the world largest hot desert and the third largest desert in the world.
The Antarctica is a desert because it has low precipitation and has scanty vegatation which is vital point to identify a desert.
So, to finish the confusion we have to observe the question which is will have been asked about the world largest desert , whether the question is related to largest hot desert or largest desert.

At the conclusion,
The largest deserts are:
1: Antarctica ― 5.5 million miles square
2: Arctic ― 5.4 million miles square
3: Sahara ― 3.5 million miles square
4: Arabian ― 1 million miles square
5: Gobi ― 0.5 million miles square
