This question is really very tricky question. First of all, we have to carefully look at the sentence and have to point out that what is missing in this sentence.

Can you say what is missing?

Can't you?

Well, there is missing of an object which we have to only bring here, and the whole sentence will remain the same, which is really very hard to point out for students and primary learners.

Question : We are chopped down and torn up (Change the voice)

Actual statement : We are chopped down and torn up by them.

Answer : They chop down and tear up us.

Active Voice refers to a sentence in which the subject is performing the action.

Passive Voice refers to a sentence in which the subject undergoes the action. In other words, it is writing the sentence in reverse order.

Example: Hallie is cleaning my room. (Active)

My room is being cleaned by Hallie. (Passive)

NOTE: Sentences that convey habitual actions cannot be changed to passive mode.

We are chopped down and torn up. (Passive)

They chop and tear us down. (Passive)
