Explanation:

classification is based on form (design) and functuction of the body which is not a constant factor. changes occure in the members of population due to mutations which result in diversification that leads to evolution. organic evolution has shown that species exhibit changes among them.

Now, the classification of organisms is made depending upon their similarities and dissimilarities. so,

organism having same structure and function are placed in same 'species'

organisms having same ansistory are placed in same 'genus'

organisms having same characters are placed in same 'family'

and this goes on till the last taxonomic category is reached beyond which organism can not be classified.
