They grew in areas where rainfall ranges between 100cm and 200cm annually in temperature ranges between 25 degrees C and 27 degrees C. The trees yield hard wood. Their barks is rough and fissured with height between 30 m and 45 m.These forests are distributed on the eastern side of western ghats, Chotanagpur Platueu, moist areas of Karnataka, Chattisgarh,Wb, odisha, Jharkhand.These type of Forests are called Monsoon Forests

Trees like Teak,sal, mangrove are dominant species of monsoon forest.These are mostly situated in Wb, mp and eastern parts of india
