We can easily move our hand in air but not throw any solid material.

This is because of the following reasons:-

(i.) The force of attraction between the particles of solid is higher as compared to that of gases.

(ii.) Solids have minimum intermolecular spaces whereas gases have maximum intermolecular spaces.

(iii.) In solids, the particles have least kinetic energy as compared to gases.
