we can see sun early in morning and even while setting down. how?

During sunset and sunrise the sun is at horizon and from horizon to the observer, the distance b/w them is maximum. While traveling this distance the sunlight scatters almost all colours except red. Due to this, intensity of light becomes minimum and we are able to see the sun.
