We get the smell of that perfume after sitting some metres away also,this is because of diffusion of the particles of perfume in the gas

We get the smell because of a process called Diffuision. It is the movement of particles from higher concentration to lower concentration. Diffuision enhances when its kinetic energy is increased. Eg burnt agarbathi.
