WE CANNOT DIGEST FIBERS BUT THESE ARE IMPORTANT FOR US ITS BECAUSE THEY HELP IN DIGESTION OF FOOD .

THEY LOWER BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVEL . SO IT MEANS THAT BY TAKING FIBERS IT PREVENTS HEART DISEASE AND OFFCOURSE AS IT LOWERS BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVEL IT WILL LOWER DIABETES .

A FIBER CALLED ISPAGOL IS TAKEN BY THOSE WHO SUFFER FROM CONSTIPATION IT HELPS IN DIGESTION OF FOOD AND INCREASE STOOL BULK .

Fiber is important for keeping the digestive tract working smoothly. Since we do not digest it, the fiber in food passes into the intestine and absorbs water. The undigested fiber creates "bulk" so the muscles in the intestine can push waste out of the body. Eating enough fiber helps prevent constipation.
