This is because the classroom is not empty and the windows are not closed. Echo is only produced when sound waves bounce back.

The repetition of sound caused by the reflection of sound waves is called an echo. The minimum distance from a sound reflecting surface to hear an echo is 17.2 metres. That's why we cannot hear the echo produced in a class room.
