We cannot see the thickness of the cells under the microscope.

  • The normal microscope is only able to give us an extremely enlarged visual of the microscopic substances. The visual given by a normal microscope is a two dimensional imagery.
  • From a two dimensional imagery we cannot get a proper idea about the third dimension or the thickness of a substance.
  • Although, the Atomic Force Microscopes can be used to measure the thickness of the cells because the working process, output result of an AFM is completely different than a normal microscope.
