We eat food composed of all the nutrients like carbohydrates, proteins,
fats, vitamins, minerals and water. After digestion, these are absorbed in
the form of glucose, aminoacids, fatty acids, glycerol etc.
What mechanisms are involved in absorption of digested food and water?

Enzymes in our stomach react with the chyme (the food made into bolus with help of saliva) and breaks down the food into smaller particles to get the necessary nutrients which is then transported to other parts of the body through blood (the nutrients get absorbed by the lumen and transported to blood).
Mechanisms involved is absorption, assimilation, ingestion.
