The curd which is obtained from the milk is acidic in nature due to presence of lactic acid in it.

Explanation:

The “litmus paper” is used for testing nature of the solution. It is available in two colors namely, red litmus paper and blue litmus paper. The “red litmus paper” remains red in color when it is treated with acid and changes into blue color when treated with base. On other hand, the blue litmus remains blue when treated with base and changes into red color when it is treated with acid.

When we dip a strip of red litmus paper in curd sample, if it remains red color without any change, then it can be inferred that the nature of curd is acidic in nature.
