ANSWER

Given

Total no: of cakes = 74

No: of cakes per box = 6

\bold{No: \ of \ boxes \ required = \dfrac{Total \ no: \ of \ cakes}{No: \ of \ cakes \ per \ box}}}}}

= \dfrac{74}{6}

= 12.3

Therefore, the total no: of boxes needed is 12.

∵ 12 * 6 = 72, and 74 - 72 = 2

=> 2 cakes remain unpacked.

Information provided with us :

 \rm{ \mapsto \: Total  \: number  \: of  \: cakes  \:  = 74 \: cakes }

 \rm{ \mapsto \: One \: box    \: contains\: 6\: cakes  }

 \overline{\rule{ 200pt}{2pt}}

What we have to find out :

 \rm \mapsto {The \:  number  \: of  \: required  \: boxes }

 \rm \mapsto {The \:  number  \: of  \: cakes  \: unpacked }

 \overline{\rule{ 200pt}{2pt}}

 \large   \underline{\underline{\rm{ \bull  \: Step   \:1: -  }}}

➻ In order to find numbers of box needed we have to use Following formula :-

Formula used:

 \rm \bigstar{Total \:  number  \: of  \: boxes \:  needed   }

 \rm \implies{\dfrac{{  The \:   \: total  \: numbers  \: of \:  cakes }}{Capacity  \: of  \: each \:  box   }  }

➻ Put the given values in this formula and solve

 \overline{\rule{ 200pt}{2pt}}

 \rm \therefore{Total \:  number  \: of  \: required \:  boxes}

 \rm \longrightarrow{\dfrac{{  74 }}{6   }  }

 \rm \longrightarrow{12.333..  }

➻ But We can write it as

 \bf \longrightarrow{12}

 \overline{\rule{ 200pt}{2pt}}

➻ Now we have to find the required Numbers of cakes unpacked

 \overline{\rule{ 200pt}{2pt}}

➻ Refer the attachment to know how required answer comes

 \rm \therefore {The \:  number  \: of  \: cakes  \: unpacked }

 \bf \longrightarrow{2}

  \huge\bf \mapsto{12}

  \huge\bf \mapsto{2}

 \large   \underline{\underline{\rm{ \bull  \: Verfication   \: -  }}}

 \rm \bigstar \: By  \: using \:  Euclid’s  \: Division \:  Lemma  \:

 \rm \implies \: a  =  \: bq  +  r  \: where \:  0  \leqslant r  \leqslant b.

➻ Where

  • ➡a = Dividend

  • ➡b = Divisor

  • ➡q = Quotient

  • ➡r = Remainder

 \rm \implies \: Dividend  =  (Divisor  \times  Quotient)  +  Remainder

Substitute the values in given formula.

 \rm \implies \: 74 =  (6 \times  12)  +  2

 \rm \implies \: 74 =  72  +  2

 \rm \implies \: 74 =74

 \rm \implies \: L.H.S =R.H.S
