We have three aqueous solutions of NaCl labelled as A, B and C with concentrations 0.1 M, 0.01 M and 0.001 M, respectively. The value of van`t Hoff factor for these solutions will be in the order……

   a) iA < iB < iC      b) iA > iB > iC      c) iA = iB = iC      d) iA < iB > iC

plzzzz explain this

So for non-ionic compounds in solution, like glucose (C6H12O6) , the van't Hoff factor is 1. For ions with a one to one ratio, like NaCl, this dissociates into ions of Na+1 and Cl-1 and the van't Hoff factor is then 2

sakku17: ya u r right for nacl its 2 but here order is given plzzz arrange it
sakku17: ans is ia>ib>ic
sakku17: plz explain it
rayanprabhu7425: Then
rayanprabhu7425: Ans will be
rayanprabhu7425: The value of van’t Hoff’s factor will be iA=iB =iC due to complete dissociation of strong electrolyte (NaCl) in dilute solutions. On complete dissociation value of i for NaCl is 2.
