we know m shell can contain 18 electrons but in k (potassium) - atom the electronic configuration is 2,8,8,1 - Why?​

every shell accommodates election according to number of shells,which is given by formula 2n^2

therefore 1st shell have 2 electron,2nd shell have 8 and so on

but according to Bohr last shell cannot have more than 8 elections

therefore potassium have electronic configuration 2,8,8,1
