CORRECT QUESTION:

We know that -3 and2 are the zeros of

quadratic Polynomial x²+(a+1)x +b . Find the value

of a and b.

Given ,

  • Quadratic polynomial x²+(a+1)x +b --------(1)
  • Two zeros -3 and 2 .

Formation of quadratic polynomial :—

 \bold {\boxed{ \implies \mathtt{ {x}^{2}  -  \: (sum \: of \: zeros) x+ poduct \: of \: zeros }}}

Now,

  • Sum of zeros -3 + 2 = -1
  • Product of zeros (-3) × 2 = -6

So, the quadratic polynomial that is formed by the above mentioned zeros:

 \bold{{ \mathtt{\implies {x}^{2}  - ( - 1)x + ( - 6)}}} \\

 \bold { \boxed{ \mathcal{\implies {x}^{2}  + x - 6}}} \:

On comparing with (1) we get ,

 \small{ \mathtt{a + 1 = 1}}

 \implies  \bold{ \boxed{ \mathtt{\: a = 0}}}

And ,

 \bold{ \boxed{ \mathtt{b \:  = 6}}}
