We know that acids are very corrosive, they can even burn our hands, we test substances on litmus PAPER to check whether they are acids or bases, but why doesn't an acid burns that litmus paper??

The constituents of our skin and litmus paper are different.
Acids reacts with the constituents of our skin to produce a corrosive effect.
But it cannot act upon litmus paper to burn it.
