We know that, g = GM/R²
=> g = GM × 1/R²
=> g is inversely proportional to R² (since GM = constant)
=> if R increases, then g decreases and if R decreases, then g increases.
that means, at the centre of the earth, where R = 0, g = infinity. but this contradicts the fact that at the centre of the earth, g = 0. which is correct then?
at the centre of the earth, is g = infinity, or is g = 0?
