The release of HCl by the parietal cells is not a sudden release. It occurs over a span of time. In addition, the release is not at a single point but rather all over the lining.
The parietal cells secrete chloride ions, sodium ions, and potassium ions into the canaliculus . In the cell cytoplasm, carbonic acid is produced and rapidly disassociates into hydrogen and bicarbonate ions. The hydrogen ions are pumped out into the canaliculus. The sodium and potassium ions are actively reabsorbed into the cytoplasm. This leaves hydrogen ions and chloride ions in the canaliculus. Voila! Hydrochloric acid in aqueous solution.
