metal sink in water we know but large ship float because density of ship as compared to water is very low such that it makes ship to float in water

The answer is the Archimedes' principle applies. It indicates that the upward buoyant force that is exerted on a body immersed in a fluid, whether fully or partially submerged, is equal to the weight of the fluid that the body displaces and it acts in the upward direction at the centre of mass of the displaced fluid.

It means that if the ships weights is less than the weight of the water it displaces, the ship - or any other thing - will float .
