we know that sound is produced by vibration. The magnitude of vibration directly proportional to its thickness. If we take a bigsheet of iron and strike it with our hand, then it sounds as well as its vibration can be seen by our eyes. But if we beat a big iron cubical solid with the same hand, it also sounds, then how is this sound produced ?. If it is due to vibration then how because the vibration gradually goes decreasing as we increase the thickness or volume of the sheet.
